What to Pack On Your Screamin’ Reels Alaska Fishing Trip
Planning an Alaska fishing trip is exciting. Knowing what to pack and what to leave behind can make all the difference in your experience. At Screamin’ Reels Lodge, we make it easy to plan your fishing trip by offering everything you need at an all-inclusive rate. From fishing licenses to top-quality gear and knowledgeable captains, we have you covered. All you will need to bring is clothing, a few personal items, and your sense of adventure.
What We Provide
One of the biggest advantages of booking a trip with Screamin’ Reels Lodge is that we take care of most of the details for you. There’s no need to worry about traveling with your bulky fishing gear, because we have premium rods, reels, tackle, and bait on our boats. We even have Grundens rain gear and boots available to help guests stay warm and dry on the water during rainy days.
Fishing licenses, unlimited fish processing, meals, lodging, and Island flights and ground transportation are all included in our all-inclusive rates. With everything prepared in advance, you can arrive ready to fish from the moment you arrive.
Clothing for Alaska’s Changing Weather
Packing the right clothing is one of the most important steps when preparing for your Alaska fishing trip. Weather shifts throughout the day, so the key is to bring comfortable layers that can be easily added or removed while you’re out on the water. Temperatures during fishing season typically range from 50-65 degrees, so we recommend bringing a light jacket, base layers, and a hat to stay comfortable on the boat.
You’ll also want to pack some comfortable clothes for relaxing at our Alaska fishing lodge. Bring a pair of house shoes or slippers to wear in the lodge. Shorts or a swimsuit can also be useful during warmer afternoons or for paddling in our bay.
Personal Items and Accessories
While we provide most of the gear you’ll need, a few personal items can make your trip even more enjoyable.
Sunscreen is always a good idea, even on overcast days. Polarized sunglasses can help reduce glare and make it easier to spot fish beneath the surface. Many guests also like to bring a camera to capture unforgettable moments during their stay at an Alaska fishing lodge, from trophy catches to the incredible wildlife and scenery.
Once you arrive at the airport, our staff will pick you up and take you the rest of the way to the lodge. We are happy to make a quick stop on the way for any alcoholic beverages or last-minute items you need for your trip. We also have a Swag Shop on-site where you can purchase hats, beanies, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and light jackets.
