Morning: Coffee, Breakfast, and Fishing
Wake up early in your private room, appointed with hand-built Aspen log furniture and extra-long memory foam beds for a restful night’s sleep. Around 5:00 AM, pour yourself a hot cup of coffee and breathe in the fresh morning air while our chef prepares a fresh breakfast to enjoy aboard the boats. By 5:15 AM, it’s time to grab your rain gear and boots and head down to the docks for your fishing charter.
Depart the dock at 5:30 AM and cruise across Port St. Nicholas Bay toward the fishing grounds. Enjoy the quiet morning with a warm breakfast sandwich in hand and you cast your first line.
Afternoon: A Full Day on the Water
Spend the heart of your day doing exactly what you came for: world-class fishing in Southeast Alaska. Work the water for king salmon, silver salmon, halibut, lingcod, or rockfish, and switch up your techniques as the day goes on to keep the action fresh. Break for lunch right on the boat, and enjoy a hearty sandwich with chips and soda. Between hookups, watch humpback whales surface nearby, bald eagles circle overhead, and sea otters drift by in the kelp.
Around 3:30 PM, the boats return to the dock. Snap photos of the day’s catch before our processing crew takes over, then rinse off your rain gear and head up to the lodge for a warm shower. Housekeeping will have already tidied your room while you were out on the water.
Evening: Amenities, Good Food, and Better Stories
Ease into the evening around 4:30 PM with appetizers in the lodge or step outside to the cedar gazebo or fire pit when the weather is nice. Swap stories over a card game, sink into the faux leather sofas and take in the mountain views, or wander down to the private dock to watch black bears feed along the shoreline. Feeling adventurous? Grab a paddle board or an ultra-light rod and cast for salmon while cruising the bay.
Sit down to dinner at 6:00 PM for a delicious chef-prepared meal.
