Purchasing a Fishing License

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has made it extremely easy to purchase your Alaska fishing license and king salmon stamp prior to your Alaskan fishing trip. You can either print the license at home or have them mail it you. It is quick and easy and it saves time on your arrival.

Some things to remember
  • Be sure to check the “nonresident” box if you are not an Alaskan resident.
  • Set the start time on your first day of fishing for 4:00 a.m. just to be safe. While we seldom leave that early…you just never know!
  • Set the time on your last day for 7:00 p.m. or later. Again, you just never know.
  • Do not forget to purchase a king salmon stamp if you plan on retaining a king salmon. This purchase will show up on your license when you print it and there will be space to record your catch.
  • Sign your license.
Lastly…do not forget to bring your license with you!!!!
